Who is John Gottman?

Named “The Einstein of Love” by Psychology Today, Dr. Gottman is known worldwide for his groundbreaking work on relationships using scientific observation and analysis. He has authored 40 books including New York Times bestseller The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. Together with his wife, Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman, he co-founded The Gottman Institute to bring his research to the world.

What is a Certified Gottman Therapist?

A Certified Gottman Therapist is an experienced therapist who has been extensively trained and demonstrated knowledge and competency in applying Gottman research-based methodologies. Licensed therapists must attend three levels of training curriculum and participate in a clinical skills practicum under the direction of a Senior Gottman Therapist before they can apply for certification with the Gottman Institute.
